No-Show Policy: Please call to reschedule—missed appointments without notice may incur a $50 fee or future denial.

Special Handling Fee ($10–$35): Applied for anxious or hard-to-handle pets to ensure safe, gentle care tailored to their needs.

Mats & Unkempt Dogs

Mats are unhealthy for dogs, and are clumps of tangled hair that are stuck together and usually need to be cut. If your dog has mats, or takes an exceptionally long time to brush, we may have to charge a higher, minute-based fee.

We at Sundance Pet Grooming are in this business because we love dogs. Mats are painful and uncomfortable for dogs, pinch their skin often in delicate areas, and many dogs experience discomfort during removal... which takes a long time. We go slow and patiently because we don't want dogs to be afraid of ANY groomer or people who have to handle them, and we treat or do other things to distract them and make this as pleasant as possible.

We hope you understand that we schedule clients in blocks, and if your dog takes longer to do, that means someone else's furry best friend is waiting their turn, and we have to notify their owner that they will be late. This causes complicated scheduling and sometimes dogs have to leave and come back!

So, if your dog begins to get mats, please call us- or ANY groomer!- to get them in ASAP. We love every dog, and none deserve to live with painful mats.
